Acoustic Metrology News
- AML UKAS Accredited for 4144 and 4134 Microphone Calibration.
Acoustic Metrology Ltd is pleased to announce that it has extended its scope of UKAS accreditation to include the calibration of Bruel & Kjaer 4144 and 4134 microphones. The 4144 and 4134 are most commonly used in conjunction with ear simulators for audiometric calibration. In both cases a comparison calibration technique is employed which follows the specifications of BS EN 61094-5:2002 for the pressure calibration of working standard microphones. The UKAS calibration certificate details the open circuit sensitivity figures from 125 to 8 kHz for the 4144 and from 125 to 16 kHz for the 4134. For further information please ask for Technical Information Sheet No 5 or contact David Canning.
- MES Testing to BS EN 62353:2008
All AML engineers are now equipped to carry out medical electrical safety testing to BS EN 62353. This is a routine electrical safety test for equipment designed to IEC 60601 and is a more comprehensive test than a standard portable appliance test (PAT test). All equipment sent to the laboratory for calibration or repair is subject to a MES test. MES testing on-site is optional however AML recommends that it should be carried out to ensure patient and operator safety.
- On Site Calibration of BioLogic NavPro Systems
AML can now offer on-site calibration of NavPro systems as a result of recent updates to the ADACS system. Calibration of the AEP module is carried out to BS EN ISO 389-6:2007 and as such meets the NHSP recommendations. Calibration of the MASTER and Scout OAE modules is carried out to the manufacturer’s specifications. This service is provided in partnership with Biosense Medical who are the UK agents for BioLogic equipment. Calibration of other EP equipment can also be carried out - please contact us with your requirements.
- Interacoustics Approved Calibration and Repair
AML is pleased to announce that it is now an approved centre for the calibration and repair of Interacoustics equipment. AML has amassed a considerable amount of experience with Interacoustics equipment over the years and this agreement sets up a direct link to the factory in Denmark for calibration/servicing information and replacement parts. AML also provide support to Interacoustics UK who are the sole UK agents for the complete range of Interacoustics instruments.
